Welcome to Hiola. By using the Hiola app ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Hiola is a messaging app with automatic translation. When you send a message, it is automatically translated into the language of each recipient. The app is designed for personal communication between family, friends, and acquaintances across language barriers.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must consent to your use of Hiola and is responsible for your activity on the app. Hiola is designed for family use and may be used by younger children under parental supervision.
Your account is tied to your phone number. You are responsible for keeping your device secure. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

You retain ownership of the messages and photos you send. By using Hiola, you grant us a limited license to store, transmit, and translate your messages for the purpose of delivering the Service. We do not use your content for advertising or sell it to third parties.
Translations are generated by AI and are not guaranteed to be perfect. Hiola is designed for casual, personal communication. Do not rely on Hiola translations for legal, medical, financial, or other high-stakes communications. We are not responsible for misunderstandings caused by translation errors.
Your use of Hiola is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.
We strive to keep Hiola available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The app may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We may modify or discontinue features at any time.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings > Delete Account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, personal data, and DM conversations. Messages sent in group chats may remain visible to other members. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Hiola, its design, logo, and code are the property of Elena Zobak LLC. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the app without written permission.
Hiola is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, secure, or available at all times. Translation accuracy is not guaranteed.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Elena Zobak LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Hiola, including but not limited to translation errors, message delivery failures, or data loss.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app. Continued use of Hiola after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
